COME AWAY IN...
UPPER DONSIDE IS WAITING
Feast your eyes on breathtaking views and fill your lungs with the freshest Highland air. Hear the distant call of a buzzard, the soft crunch of heather underfoot. Touch the cold, ancient stone of a 16th century castle, drink in the treasures of a rich and varied arts and crafts scene...there’s so much to explore.
TWO HUNDRED YEARS OF HIGHLAND HISTORY
The Lonach Hotel began life in the 1820s as Watson’s Inn, where many a weary traveller would spend the night on long journeys by coach and horse through the Cairngorms. Known over the passing decades as the Newe Inn, the Colquhonnie Inn, and most recently the Colquhonnie House Hotel, The Lonach Hotel is as much a part of the landscape of Strathdon today as it was almost two centuries ago – and promises just as warm a welcome. Named in honour of the Lonach Highlanders who originate from Strathdon and are surrounded by a rich history of Scots tradition, The Lonach Hotel is being beautifully restored to create a vibrant and welcoming home-from-home for locals and visitors from far and wide.
The Lonach Hotel is currently undergoing restoration to bring to these glens a special place to eat, drink and stay awhile.
